Prairie Star is located at Old Barrington Farm in Barrington, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. The barn was built by the McArdle family, to provide a state-of-art premier Midwest equestrian center, training hunter-jumpers for the highest level show jumping competitions. The farm features:
- 125' x 300' outdoor sand ring with footing featuring the Otto Sport System for drainage
- 200' x 500' outdoor grass jumping field with grobs, hills, and built-in water jumps
- 85' x 210' heated indoor ring with TravelRight footing, fans, windows, and skylights
- All-weather and grass paddocks
- Rubber matted 12’ x 12’ and 12’ x 18’ stalls
- Heated and air-conditioned viewing room with wireless internet, flat screen television, fireplace, and opens to outdoor patio area
- Extensive horse trails through woods and past ponds and wetland preserves
